POSITION SUMMARY

The UX/UI Developer is a key member of the Thycotic Product team and is chiefly responsible for owning and enhancing the overall end-user experience as well as the look and feel of Thycotic products. Working closely with our Product Managers and Engineers, the UX/UI Developer leads the design process of new features and capabilities – from the crafting of user flows and storyboards, to the design of wire frames and mockups.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead the design of the User Interface of new Thycotic products and features, in close collaboration with Thycotic Engineers and Product Managers, with a precise understanding of how our UI enhances end user interaction of our products  
  • Develop storyboards, wire frames, and high fidelity mockups that effectively meet end user requirements  
  • Conduct end user research and concept testing during the feature design, development, and beta stages of the product lifecycle 
  • Proactively examine all facets of our products’ UI and implement necessary UI changes in the product backlog 
  • Ensure consistency between all Thycotic UIs 
  • Conduct Usability Tests to validate effectiveness of design ideas  

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to show initiative and work under minimal supervision 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent. 
  • Master’s degree preferred 
  • At least 5 years of experience in Agile/Scrum environment   
  • Fluency with front-end web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) 
  • Strong, demonstrated skills with design and prototyping tools: Adobe, Axure, Balsamiq, or others  
  • Demonstrated understanding of UX practices and processes, including user-centered design and research 
  • Comfort working with distributed (virtual) teams
